Increasing Life in '08

My keyword for 2008 is Rich. I love this word because it's all about increasing life and this is what I intend my life to be about in the New Year - increasing life for myself and for others. Studying The Science of Getting Rich has given me an expanded view of what being rich really means.

"You want to get rich in order that you may eat, drink and be merry when it is time to do these things; in order that you may surround yourself with beautiful things, see distant lands, feed your mind, and develop you intellect in order that you may love men and do kind things, and be able to play a good part in helping the world to find truth."

I can think of no better way to spend my new year. Here's to a rich, full life experience for us all in 2008.

Feeling = Attracting

I have been writing in my journal for most of the day today but suddenly I felt the need to write this blog post on the importance of feelings and what it means to flow downstream.

It’s so important to reach for thoughts that feel good or help us feel better because our feelings equal our point of attraction. In other words what we are feeling is also what we are attracting. Choosing thoughts that feel better/provide relief cause us to flow downstream toward the fulfillment of our desires. By thinking thoughts that cause us to feel worse, we turn and head upstream away from the fulfillment of our desires. The stream I’m referring to is the Stream of Life.

Here are some excerpts from “The Astonishing Power of Emotions” by Jerry & Esther Hicks explaining the upstream/downstream analogy.

“The Stream of Life was in motion before you came forth into your body.”

From your Non-Physical perspective you added to the current (momentum) of the Stream of Life as you set forth you intentions to be here on this planet in this body.

While in your body, you continue to add to the current of the Stream of Life by deciding what you don’t want; this then produces the natural asking for what you do want.

With every asking you add to the speed of the current (momentum) of the Stream of Life.

“Whenever your life causes you to ask for something beyond what you are living – the Non-Physical part of you rides that rocket of desire and becomes the vibrational fulfillment of your request.

“The Stream of Life will carry you downstream to the fulfillment of everything your life has caused you to create – it’s all there waiting for you to flow to it.

The Non-Physical part of you (your Inner Being) has already become the vibrational equivalent of what you are asking for.

“The Current is the momentum that is caused by the Law of Attraction’s response to the vibration of your Inner Being.”

Allow yourself to be the You that life has caused you to become. (What your Inner Being has become).

The emotions you feel are indicators of the vibrational relationship between you and your Inner Being or Non-Physical part of you.

Feeling good takes you downstream and feeling bad takes you upstream.

Go with the flow and allow the Current to carry you forward to all that you desire.

“You can tell, thought by thought, if you are pointed upstream or downstream; and whether you are closing the gap between you and You or if you are holding yourself unnaturally apart.”

I have listed some Abraham Hicks processes I use for getting to a better feeling place. These processes include Moving Up the Emotional Scale, Which Thought Feels Better and Finding the Feeling Place.

The Emotional Scale from Abraham Hicks
Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
Passion
Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
Positive Expectation/Belief
Optimism
Hopefulness
Contentment
Boredom
Pessimism
Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
Overwhelmed
Disappointment
Doubt
Worry
Blame
Discouragement
Anger
Revenge
Hatred/Rage
Jealousy
Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

My thoughts and experiences on using the Emotional Scale
I use this scale only as a guide. I don’t work up the scale emotion by emotion but if you do and it helps you then by all means keep doing it. I find that I can easily get to hopefulness just by asking if I believe the situation can improve. Not will it improve but is it possible that it can improve.

Since I believe that anything is possible this provides an easy way for me to move to the better feeling place of hopefulness. And from a feeling of hopefulness the situation is bound to improve since the Law of Attraction must match my feeling of hopefulness with things that give me hope.

Which Thought Feels Better?
I love to feel good, it’s important to me that I feel good and I’m very sensitive to when I don’t feel good so I’m always reaching for a better feeling thought which also naturally moves me up the Emotional Scale. When we feel better, circumstances around us change to match our new emotional set point. It also provides an indication that we are heading towards the manifestation of our desires.

Finding the Feeling Place
This process is fun. I like to use it because the Universe doesn’t know if we are currently experiencing our desires or if we are just thinking about them; it just matches what we are feeling. I can mentally and emotionally experience the highest and best life I can imagine.

And when I experience the feeling, whether real or imagined, the manifestation is sure to follow.

Going Upstream or Flowing Downstream

I have received several requests to elaborate on the upstream / downstream analogy. As I began writing this post it occurred to me that several months back I had linked a video of Abraham explaining this very concept. Please check out the link and let me know your thoughts.

Here it is http://illuminatedminds.blogspot.com/2007/07/abraham-hicks-abraham-on-going-with.html

I found this video to be incredibly helpful in gaining a deeper understanding between an upstream thought and a downstream thought. Simply put, an upstream thought doesn't feel very good and a downstream thought feels better and provides relief.

I noticed that I began making different choices after I was introduced to this whole upstream / downstream concept. I started to pay attention to whether or not I felt like I was heading upstream or downstream and based any decision I made on my desire to keep flowing downstream - feeling good, flowing towards my desires, feeling relief, etc. I must say this has made a huge difference in what I'm now experiencing in my life. My experiences now are more in alignment with my desires in life.

Sometimes the feeling is all you have to go on but in my experience the feeling tells me everything I need to know about whether I'm moving in the direction of my desires (downstream - feels good) or moving away from my desires (upstream - feels bad).

How to Raise Your Money Vibe

Today, I had a very, very brief experience with some feelings of scarcity. This little encounter didn’t last very long thanks to some quick thinking on my part. As soon as the feelings started to surface I knew something was wrong and I used some of the tools and processes I've learned over the years to help change my money vibe. I’ve listed a few of my favorites below, all of them tried and tested by yours truly.

1. Go within and ask for insight
Close your eyes and go within. Ask to be given a visual representation of your current way of thinking about the situation and then to be given a new focus. If you ask you will be shown. Be open and pay attention and don’t disregard what comes to you. I get amazing insights when I do this. I’ve linked one of my experiences with this process http://believeitspossible.blogspot.com/2007/07/my-cup-runneth-over.html if you would like more detail.

2. What for?
Think about why you want the money. If you have a dollar amount in mind, start thinking about what you will be doing with the money. Get as detailed as you need to be in order to get to the feeling place of experiencing what the money is flowing to.

3. Distraction
Do something you enjoy - take a nap, watch a funny movie, read, write in your journal, listen to your favorite music, etc. Get your mind off your current difficulty. As soon as you can get your mind off the problem the situation will begin to turn around.

4. Make a list (11 Things)
Make a list of at least 11 things that are going well in your life. You’ll find there are more things going right than going wrong. It’s easy to lose sight of this fact when you’re experiencing difficulties and that’s why this list is so helpful. The last time I made this list I was feeling better by 3 and forgot the problem by 11. Take some time and really appreciate all the wonderful things in your life.

Why 11 things? Well, I love the number 11 so I like using that number. Feel free to change it if you want. The point is to get you feeling good and focused on what’s working because we always get more of what we focus on. Thinking about lack brings more lack. Thinking about abundance and what’s working in your life brings more of the same. The choice is up to you.

5. Count the ways
Think about all the ways the money can come to you and/or the situation can remedy itself. Do this as long as you can stay in a good feeling place. Remember, when your current difficulty came forth so did the solution. Allow the Universe to reveal the solution to you. It can bring the perfect people, the perfect dollar amount, the perfect situation, etc., to turn your situation around. It’s your thinking that limits you not the Universe.

6. Play the penny game
I recently started doing this and it has brought some incredible results plus it’s just fun to do. Playing the game instantly raises my money vibe.

In the past when I would find a penny I would say to myself thank you Universe for this symbol of my abundance and I meant it but it got me thinking. If the penny is a symbol of abundance than why couldn’t the penny symbolize say $100? A couple of days ago I found two pennies in one day. Each time I found one I said to myself thank you for this symbol of my abundance and I thought WOW I’m getting $100!

I went home and put both pennies in a wine glass and put it on my windowsill in my kitchen. It provided such a wonderful visual representation of the $200 that I knew was coming to me plus when the money came I would use the wine glass to toast its arrival. Well when I was sorting through my mail today guess what? I received notification of a payment being sent to me in the amount of $250 and I found another penny.

7. Trust
When you start to feel better, when you feel relief – trust that feeling even if everything around you looks like it's falling apart. That feeling of relief is letting you know that things are turning around. The situation is getting better even if, for the moment, you can't yet see it. Start trusting those good feeling vibes.

Since the Universe matches our feelings, it doesn’t know the difference between actually living an experience and just imagining it so why not have some fun and imagine it the way you want it to be.

Living Out Loud

On my other blog, Believe It's Possible, I have a list of things I want to be, do and have.

What I want to be:
• an empowering writer
• authentic
• financially free

What I want to do:
• bring fresh new ways to approach our life experience
• empower people
• stimulate thought

What I want to have:
• a rich, full life experience

This past week I provided myself an opportunity to be, do and have everything on this list by making two important decisions.

1). Live authentically
2.) Pursue my writing

The teachings of Abraham-Hicks have profoundly influenced my life and something I heard recently on an Abraham CD prompted me to make these two decisions. Abraham said it was important to make a decision and then line up with your decision. I’ve heard this before on other workshop tapes but when I heard it this time I heard it on a whole new level.

I saw clearly how in the past I would make a decision and then allow the majority of my thoughts to contradict the decision. I would talk about living authentically but I was too afraid of being laughed at, criticized, and misrepresented, etc. to actually do it.

What prompted me to finally make the decisions? My desire to live a big life became greater than my fear of being criticized. By living a big life I mean living in the fullness of who I am and not shrinking so that others will approve of me but instead to live out loud, embracing my life, mistakes and all.

I realized that I wasn’t really living as long as I cared more about what people might think instead of actually sharing my gifts with the world. I have a unique perspective on the world because I’m living it and it’s something that no one else can share because it comes from me; just like you have a unique expression to bring forth that only you can do.

So, how are these decisions allowing me to be, do and have everything on my list?

I can be authentic by living the life I desire and embracing my own beliefs and unique way of seeing the world while allowing others to do the same.

I can be an empowering writer by living authentically and sharing my experiences with all of you.

I can be financially free by following my inner guidance to pursue my writing and other opportunities that are being presented to me.

I can bring fresh new ways to approach our life experience by living my own life authentically and by pursuing my writing.

I can empower people by living a big life and by sharing my insights and experiences.

I can stimulate thought by exploring my own questions and sharing my insights through my writing.

I can have a rich, full life experience by living authentically and by consciously creating my ideal life.

Some interesting developments have occurred since I made these decisions and decided to line up with them. A documentary film crew showed up at our Law of Attraction meeting and asked if they could film the group as part of a documentary they are doing on the Law of Attraction phenomenon. They taped portions of our group discussion, interviewed several of our group members along with all of the group organizers.

The interesting thing is if I was asked to participate even two weeks ago I would have said no but this occurred two days after deciding that I was going to live authentically. I decided to speak from my heart and not to think about how it would be received. I only thought about what I had to contribute to the conversation. We may not even make it into the documentary but it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that I made a decision to speak honestly about my beliefs and I was authentic.

I will point out that this documentary will probably air on a religious network and it has been told to me that the documentary is aiming to debunk the Law of Attraction. Do I care? No. What they do with the documentary is up to them. I feel my role was to give my thoughts on the subject and that is exactly what I did and I did it on camera for the whole world to see. Not allowing that experience would have been out of alignment with my decision to be authentic.

More to come....

The Gentle Art of Blessing

My friend Robin sent me this video on the art of blessing. I found it to be so beautiful and inspiring. I hope it inspires you as much as it has me.

Abraham San Antonio Workshop Notes - Part 2

By focusing on what's wrong, you keep yourself apart from what's right.

Diagnosis is a manifestational indicator of your vibration.

Negative emotion will continue to get bigger the more it goes unnoticed by you.

Are you beating the drum of wellness or disease?

What's in your bank account is an indication of your vibration around money.

If you let what is set the tone for your vibration your life will stay the same.

You don't need to control conditions to come into alignment.

We've been teaching our children to look outside themselves for approval.

The difference between feeling pain & feeling fearful about it and feeling pain & feeling hopeful about it is the difference between getting well or not.

Be pioneers of powerful deliberate creation. Non-conformists come forth to teach unconditional love and alignment. Here I am take it or leave it, I am as I am and that's my gift to you.

To create anything 1). Ask 2). Source answers 3). Come into vibrational alignment with your desires. You do this through reaching for better feeling thoughts.

Put distance between the question time and allowing.

Don't try to make it happen, let it happen.

True power comes from alignment with energy.

You close the vibrational gap between where you currently are and where you want to be by reaching for the best feeling thought between where you are and what you desire.

Patience isn't necessary when you learn alignment.

Choose a downstream feeling. A downstream feeling feels good.

Trying to make things happen has struggle within it.

Reach for the feeling of what you want.

Pay attention to whether you're feeling an upstream or downstream thought.

If you want your situation to change you must offer a vibration different than what is.

A joyful image brings a downstream thought.

Do you expect it to happen?

Allow your desires to come forth in the best way possible.

Impatience is upstream.

When you have a vivid dream it is an indication that your vibrational alignment is complete and you're experiencing it in the dream state.

Visualization helps turn you downstream. Trying turns you upstream because there's effort in it.

On relationships, you want to attract someone who is a vibrational match to what's in your vibrational escrow which means you need to be a match to your own vibrational aspects. Look for positive aspects, be appreciative of where you are, focus on the best in the other person.

Find a way to be happy on your way to where you want to be.

Be as specific as you can be on your desires and still feel good.

You can't ask for too much but you can worry yourself out of alignment.

Have knowing about receiving your desires. Remind yourself that it is already done, it's already been completed and is on its way to you.

Having doubt can keep your desire away forever.

Asking "Is my desire close?" is laced with doubt. Find a way to keep your thoughts about it going downstream. Passion, enthusiasm and exhilaration equal vibrational proximity.

Don't let the short-sidedness of others affect your life.

This is an expanding world.

Listen for the call of Source and move toward it.

Don't replace your child's guidance with your own. Your children has an Inner Being that guides them. Help them pay attention to their inner guidance.

Words don't teach but life experience does.

Show your child how to connect with their own guidance by your own example. Teach with the clarity of your own example.

It's your job to feel good.

Make a big deal over your child's alignment with Source Energy.

Don't let other people or things keep you from being who you are - an appreciator.

You're supposed to feel good! Everything in the Universe is working on your behalf.

Jealousy happens when you witness what you want from a place of lack and vibrational mis-alignment.

When someone is angry at you or mistreating you they deserve your help as much as finding someone on the street that is hurt and bleeding.

It's never about the other person.

Think only about what you want. Don't explain how things are. Praise and appreciate. Tell the story the way you want. Speak about what you want and why you want it. Get to the essence of what you want.

Pat attention to your indicators of vibrational alignment.

Pick the best parts of your reality. Pick the memories, thoughts, experiences that evoke good feeling thoughts.

Go happily toward what you want. The joy is the journey.

There is no such thing as incurable.

Don't turn out your light to please another. Don't join others in their disconnection.

Other people need to shine their own light.

My happiness is my own responsibility.

Increase your feelings of empowerment.

Trust in your Well-Being.

Be determined to feel better in each thought you think.

Faith is holding the tone when evidence hasn't yet shown up. It is the ability to hold an idea even without physical evidence.

Positive emotion indicates knowing.

Think thoughts on purpose, pay attention to how you feel and then watch what happens.

Children aren't born to think the same thoughts as their parents. They aren't born to follow in your footsteps. You're never going to get your kids to experience the world through your eyes because they were born in a different time than you.

Diversity in thought is a good thing because it brings more expansion in the world.

Be happy. See the world through the eyes of Source Energy.

Children are little beacons of pure, positive energy.

Be real in your connection and real in your disconnection. Say to your kids - I'm not feeling good and I know it's because I've been thinking thoughts that don't feel good. I know that I'm responsible for feeling good so I'm going to go spend some time thinking good thoughts and getting my connection back.

Intuitively feel the flow of energy in your life.

Law of Attraction will not let your desires come to you if you're not a vibrational match to it.

Don't lower your vibration to help others.

You can't want anything that the Universe can't deliver to you.

Sameness is not normal. We are constantly expanding and the Universe expands with us.

Don't try to be perfect in all of this - be flexible and real and aware of what you feel. Lean downstream as much as you can.

Come into alignment with freedom, abundance, prosperity and comfort.

Allow others to be playful components to your life experience.

Focus on how life is responding to you.

Don't guide your behavior by anyone else's standards.

Abraham San Antonio Workshop Notes - Part 1

I attended my first Abraham Workshop last weekend in San Antonio and the experience was absolutely amazing, AMAZING. Typing up the workshop notes is taking longer than I thought because there is so much information to take in and process; so I've decided to post the notes in sections instead of waiting until it is all completed. Here is the first installment.

Learn to love your unfulfilled desires.

There is no ending to your expansion.

You are Source Energy physically focused in this physical body.

Negative emotions indicate that you're not keeping up with who this life experience has caused you to become. You are out of alignment with Source Energy.

Jesus said, "Turn the other cheek", meaning turn your attention away from what you DON'T want and instead turn your attention to what you DO want.

When you are in alignment you feel wonderful.

Law of Attraction is the vibrational manager of the Universe, responding to both the non-physical and physical parts of you.

Are you keeping up with the stream that you have set forth? Turn and go with the flow. Nothing that you want is upstream.

You don't have to prove your worthiness. You're worthy - deal with it.

Keep up with You or you won't feel good.

By focusing on what is wrong, you are keeping yourself apart from what is right.

Allow yourself to move with the power of the Universal forces.

When you hear the call of Source move in the direction that feels good.

Hold to the vision you have for your life.

Pretend others as you want them to be because when you are a vibrational match to what you want then it must come to you.

If you are not receiving what you want then the only reason is because you are a vibrational match to what you don't want.

Feel the power of the stream. Let go of the oars and the current will carry you forward.

Reflections on Living the Questions

It's been almost a month since my previous blog post about loving and living the questions in our lives. So, what have I been doing during this time; well living the questions of course! I must say it has been a most enlightening month for me.

I am learning so much about myself through this process of living the questions. It feels good to me to know that I don't have to have everything figured out; that I can enjoy the unfolding of my life experience. So here is what I have come to realize.

I realize that my most important relationship is with my self and that all the relationships in my life mirror my own thinking back to me, which makes every relationship a good relationship because it shows me my own thoughts. I am responsible for my own happiness. Once I understood that then real changes started happening in my life.

Here are just a few of the changes that have happened in my life during the past month:

A complete turnaround of my finances (for the better)
New job and new direction for my life
I am more authentic in my relationships
Finishing the redecorating project that has been on hold for the past two years.

I think I'm off to a pretty good start don't you?

Live the Questions

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketMy Law of Attraction Group is studying relationships this month. At our last meeting, a list of questions was provided to us as a tool to help further examine our thoughts and feelings about the relationships in our lives.

As I began working my way through the list of questions I noticed that I was having some difficulty answering some of them. At first I didn't know why but then I realized that I was approaching the questions as if I were taking a test and wanted to get a good grade on it. I wrote answers that sounded good and logical but held no truth or real emotion for me. Why would I do this? What’s the benefit? Why did I care more about how it looked on the outside than how it felt for me on the inside?

As I was thinking about what the answer to these questions would be, a quote from one of my favorite books, "Letters to a Young Poet" by Ranier Maria Rilke, came into my mind. It's from Letter Four and it says:
"...try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."

Perfection. Live the questions. Live everything. I love it!

So, here is a list of a few other questions I am now living.

1. What is a relationship?
2. What does it mean to be in a relationship?
3. What defines a good relationship?
4. What is a successful relationship?
5. Are good relationships successful relationships?
6. Why aren't all of our relationships fulfilling?
7. Are there different kinds of relationships?
8. What do you gain from your relationships?
9. What is it that you bring to every relationship?
10. What does love look like when it's not about seeking, wanting or needing?

I plan to share my experiences and insights in living these questions with you in the coming days. I hope you will in turn share your experiences in living your questions with me. I know we have much to gain by doing so.

The Relationship of Your Dreams

A friend gave me an Abraham Hicks quote on relationships and it is so good that I wanted to share it with all of you. It's one I hadn't heard before.

Do you know the relationship that you are all looking for? Do you know what it really is?

You want the relationship between you and you. And when you meet a person who looks fondly at you, or who is appreciative of you, or someone you look fondly upon, or someone you appreciate, it just hooks you up to your Inner Being, which is what you want all along.

So the relationship you are all looking for is the relationship between you and you. And everything else is just helpful in that, really.

Don't you find that interesting? That what you really want is a reason to vibrationally connect with who you really are.

If any of you are without the relationship of your dreams right now, that's a wonderful thing. Because now you have an opportunity to work on the relationship that really matters first and foremost. And then, in that connection, the relationship of your dreams will come.

But you are going to discover the relationship of your dreams is really your own Inner Being. It's that infusion of clarity and confidence and wellness, that's what you are reaching for.

And it is nice to have a human friend who holds you as their object of attention and adores you right into your connection. But we want you to experience greater independence than that.

We want you to say to your lovers,
I love you, but I don't live for you because Source Energy flows through
me. You are a catalyst to my wellbeing, but you are not essential to my
wellbeing because I've got that figured out on my own. I have reached for thoughts that give me relief all the way into my full connection of
who I really am. And now we can just dance and play together.

Can you feel how you take them off the hook? In other words, do you know how many men would flock to you? (ALL OF THEM!)...if they knew that you would allow them to be as they are and you would not hold them responsible for your happiness.

That's what everyone wants. How much bondage is there in believing that your happiness depends on me, so I've got to figure out what you want and stand on my head in all those different ways and it's not even possible!

The greatest gift you can give anyone is to be happy and we will take that further. The greatest gift you can give to any partner past, present or future is to be so connected with who you truly are, that they are irrelevant to your connection. Then you are really going to have a good time together.

San Diego, 2/7/04

This quote has been incredibly helpful to me in dealing with a personal "mini-crisis" I've had going on for the last few weeks. By "mini-crisis" I mean a situation I thought was devastating that turned out not to be as bad as I thought. Surprisingly the "mini-crisis" was not in regards to another person but instead had to do with my relationship to money.

I think I'm starting to "get it" that every relationship in my life stems from my relationship to myself. I realize that some people might not see that statement as good news but I find it incredibly empowering and liberating!

I realized that fact a while back in dealing with my relationships with others. That's why my interpersonal relationships are so good. For some reason it never occurred to me to apply that same thought process to my finances but once I did that 's when my situation started to turn around.

I am the answer to any difficulty I am facing. What a liberating thought that is!

God and the Law of Attraction - Pt.2

A Law of Attraction View of God

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. (Genesis 1:1)

I’ve always been intrigued by this Bible passage because for me it was always shrouded in mystery. I didn’t doubt that it happened but I wanted to know how. How did God create something out of nothing?

I’m an insatiably curious person and have been my whole life. I remember being told as a child by some well meaning adults (thankfully not my parents) not to question this but to just accept it. Well, hearing that just made me question it even more. It frustrated me that people would prefer to tell me not to question something instead of just admitting that they didn’t know the answer. Maybe they thought it was wrong to question anything that had to do with God. Who knows? Not me, I thought it was a good question and deserved an answer. I’m no longer a child but I’m just as inquisitive as I was back then. I still want to know and experience things and get to their deeper meaning.

I think that is why I’ve enjoyed my study of the Law of Attraction so much. It has brought me to a deeper understanding of what I was taught about God through the Bible. I see no conflict between God and the Law of Attraction because I see everything as being connected. I see everything as being a part of God. This realization has allowed me to look through more compassionate, more loving eyes at the world around me and those in it. It has also provided me a way to live a more creative and empowering life experience.

So, back to the original question – how did God create something out of nothing? If there was no visible universe, no other life that we know of, then how did the first something get created? In keeping with my statement from Part 1 of this series I will repeat that I don’t know all there is to know about God and the workings of the Universe but I do have a belief about it which is what we all have – a belief. I believe that our universe and everything in it first began with a thought.

According to the Science of Mind teachings God is Mind, Spirit, Intelligence. The invisible power which makes all things out of Itself, by an inner action of its own thought upon Itself.

Wallace Wattles, in “The Science of Getting Rich” calls God the One Substance, the Original Substance, the Thinking Substance and says that the desire you feel for a rich, full life experience is God seeking to express Himself through you.

Abraham-Hicks refers to God as Source Energy and says that we are physically focused extensions of God (Source Energy) and that we are on the leading edge of thought. Abraham says that “the universe is ever expanding, and you are a point of light expanding in this system. Life (God) summoning through you is what it's all about -- not the completion of anything."

God, Source Energy, Mind, the Original Substance – whatever you want to call it - is the great reason behind everything. Being All-Knowledge it must know Itself and everything it creates. Being All-Presence means we can contact it anytime, anywhere. Being All-Knowing and operating through the power of the Word (thought) means it knows everything we think. It is apparent that the process of creation is an inner thought process.

God makes all things out of Himself through self-knowing or thinking. God thinks, or knows and that which He thinks or knows appears from Himself and is made out of Himself.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1)
When we know that God is, we have a principle that is exact and is going to correspond to our thought about it. Remember that it is always done to us as we believe. We must believe that our word is law and that there is something that takes our thought and completes it for us without fail. We must also have faith and by that I mean positive mental activity or positive thinking.

“All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23)
“It will be done just as you believed it would” (Matt 8:13)
“We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7)
“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matt 17:20)

When we realize that we are like God, because we are made out of God, we will realize that our word (thought) also has power. If we realize that there is only One Mind then it follows that our word (thought) is the activity of that One Mind in our consciousness and that the energy that creates worlds is the same energy that flows through us.

The Law of Attraction says that you create your reality through your thoughts. God and the Law of Attraction, sounds like a perfect match to me.

God and the Law of Attraction? Pt. 1

Our Beliefs About God?

Where does God fit in all this talk about the Law of Attraction? This is a valid question and one worth examining in greater detail. This is a big topic to cover in just one post so I will be devoting several posts to exploring the different aspects of it. I would like to make it clear that I am not telling you what to believe because that decision is entirely up to you. But I am asking you to keep an open mind and consider the possibilities as we delve more deeply into this topic.

I think it is important to get this out in the open – I don’t know all there is to know about God and the workings of the Universe and neither do you. How can we? A belief that we know all there is to know implies that everything is done and that cannot be since this Universe is eternally expanding and so are we. Since we don’t know everything there is to know, that means that there is always something new to discover, a new way to view or experience something that will increase our understanding of it.

In order to gain a deeper understanding of anything you must first be willing to see it in a different light. You must be open to the possibility of seeing it another way. Now, being open to the possibility doesn’t mean you have to agree with it, it just means that it’s possible. You can find evidence for or against anything you want but you will always find evidence according to your beliefs.

If you want to see how God and the Law of Attraction go together then you must first be willing to see it. It still amazes me how the mere mention of God in a conversation can push people’s buttons like it does. Different views of God can really provoke some ugly arguments and I’m not sure why that is. I’m not asking for quantum leaps here but I would like to see a healthy questioning of your beliefs about God. Questioning a belief is merely taking a deeper look at it. It will show you whether or not your belief is really yours or is instead what someone wants you to believe. But remember, no one can change your belief but you. So before we get into God and the Law of Attraction let’s take a closer look at our beliefs about God.

Do you believe...

You are separate from God or that you are a physical extension of God?
God created the world and then stopped creating or that God continues to create?
There is anything that God can’t do?
God communicates directly with you?
God has physical attributes like Man or that God is Energy?
God sees you as limited or unlimited?
God wants you to live all the life you are capable of living?
There is something that connects everything in this Universe?

I hope you will take some time to consider what you think about these questions because your belief about God will reveal everything to you regarding your belief about life and what you believe is possible.

Ask and It Really Is Given

Over the past two weeks I have received several requests to begin exploring the Law of Attraction in more detail; specifically as it relates to the following issues:

1. What role does the Law of Attraction have in the creation of the Universe?
2. Where is God in the Law of Attraction?
3. Do we really create our own reality?

Yes I know these are some very big, complex issues to explore but what better place to do it than on a Law of Attraction blog! Actually, researching and contemplating these issues has proven to be quite fascinating.

I started a post on the Law of Attraction and the creation of the Universe but I was having trouble getting it down on paper. Trying to explain the scientific details and still make it easy and interesting to read was proving difficult. I was beginning to feel frustrated because I could not get my thoughts down on paper the way I wanted. I realized that my frustration was alerting me to the fact that I was headed upstream and that there was an easier way to get this discussion started.

I asked the Universe to lead me to the perfect resources to help explain the scientific concepts and begin our exploration. Well, ask and it is given. Shortly after asking for help I was given a link to two movies that deal with the very issues that I was attempting to write about. I decided to take the downstream approach and allow the movies to explain the concepts and then I will explore in greater detail. This is just an overview but I think you will find both movies very enlightening.

The first movie is called The Unity of Spirit and Matter and is 29 minutes long. It deals with questions such as:

• How did the physical world come into existence
• How did the first something get created
• What is consciousness
• How did the creative process begin
• Incarnation and the Law of Attraction
• Spiritual awakening

The second movie is called The Law of Attraction Explained and is 17 minutes long. I think the title is pretty self explanatory.

I’m really excited about exploring these issues in greater detail. I would love to hear your thoughts, comments and/or questions.

High Vibes

OK, this is cool. Cardin from Optimist Lab has invited me to play the High Vibes Game. You play by sharing some of the ways you raise your vibration plus you tag five posts from your favorite bloggers at a site called High Vibe It. It sounded fun so of course I wanted to play. I have so many ways to raise my vibration but I'm going to mention five ways that came into play for me this past weekend. Three of my nephews ages 4 to 11 were spending part of the weekend with me when I was tagged to play, so my high vibes have a lot to do with my interaction with them. Here are my five ways:

1. Sort out
I love a good sort out-throwing things away, shredding documents, giving things to charity; it really does something for me. I find my need to have a sort out usually coincides with something that is ending in my life. In fact, I get kind of jazzed when I feel the need for one because I know it means something new is coming in. Getting rid of the old symbolizes making room for the new in my life.

2. Coloring
I've always loved coloring, especially as a child. I don't do it a lot as an adult which is kind of surprising because I'm really artistic. This weekend I was reminded of the joys of coloring by my 11 year of nephew, who has Down Syndrome and is one of the most connected people I know. He was coloring at the dining room table and wanted me to come join him but I was busy cleaning. He asked several times for me to color with him but I kept saying no, that I needed to clean the kitchen and he kept asking “Why?” He really seemed puzzled by my choice to clean rather than color. When I finally asked why he wanted me to do it right that minute he said with great excitement “Cause it’s fun!” That simple but profound statement made me laugh out loud because it was so true. I put down my sponge and promptly joined him at the table. We spent the next half hour coloring. His picture is proudly displayed on my refrigerator as well as my own; each one a simple reminder to take time to do things simply for the fun of it.

3. Make Believe
We're never to old for make believe but sometimes as we get older it's easy to get caught up being an "adult". I was fortunate to spend time this weekend with children who practice make believe on a daily basis. My 9 year old nephew wanted to play store. He is quite a businessman let me tell you. He spent a good deal of time going around the house picking out items for his store. He waited for me to finish up what I was doing and then asked me to come in and do some shopping. He had transformed the guest bedroom into his Toy’s R’ Me & You store. Everything was set out very nicely for me to look at and he was quick to let me know the selling points of each item. Prices ranged from $500 to $1 billion dollars with most items having a $1 million dollar price tag. When I balked at the prices he said, “Don’t worry, you can afford it. Just pretend. You can cut up pieces of paper and write the amount on it.” I was blown away by what that little encounter revealed to me. I gave him some grief for not giving me a family discount but he gave it right back to me by showing me one of my limiting beliefs about money. I was so stuck that I couldn't even pretend to be rolling in abundance. I could have made up as much money as I wanted to spend. How fun is that! Thankfully, he was having none of my limiting beliefs. I bought a couple of items, paid by check (creatively made from an index card) and made sure he knew that I would definitely be a repeat customer!

4. Chillin with Sitcoms & Britcoms
More and more I’m becoming very selective with what I spend my time watching. In fact, I haven’t watched TV in a couple of months and I feel great. If I watch anything it’s a TV series on DVD. I rent them from the library and I love them! They keep me in such a great feeling place. I mostly watch comedies, especially ones from the 70s like Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, MASH, etc. I also love the Britcoms like Vicar of Dibley, Chef, As Time Goes By, Are You Being Served, etc. I really enjoy watching them and they keep me in a good feeling place.

5. Relaxing Bath
I love taking bubble baths. Most people that know me say you can never go wrong getting me bubble bath, gels, soaps, lotions, etc. I love it all! I’ve been known to spend so much time in the bathtub that I have to empty the tub and put more hot water in. I find it incredibly soothing and relaxing and it always makes me feel better.

Well there you have it, five ways that I use to raise my vibration. I really feel good. I think I'll go color something.

Now to spread all those good vibes, here are five posts from some of my favorite bloggers. I enjoy each of these writers because they are insightful, uplifting and they help me look at life in a fresh way. Enjoy these wonderful writers.

The Focus Movie

I came across a video today called The Focus Movie. It is one of the best videos I've seen that perfectly illustrates the importance of focusing on what you want in your life The Focus Movie .

Watching the movie made me wonder why we don't spend more time focusing on what we want in our life, the things that bring us joy and help us to feel good. Why do we choose to focus on things that frighten us and make us feel vulnerable? Why is it so easy for these thoughts to take hold in our mind? I think part of the reason is we haven't fully realized the power of our thoughts and we don't understand how the Law of Attraction works in our life. I came across this Abraham Hicks quote that I think helps to answer those questions.

...You can make your life go any way you choose to focus. And you know what? You are. However your life is going is because of the aspects [you choose to focus on] that could feel good and could feel bad of every subject that is within you. In other words, you are the one that gets to choose the dominant vibration.

So you're moving through your life and things are maybe not going the way you want [them] to, and you say, "Somebody should do something about that!" And we say, you're right, somebody should do something about that. But the only person who can do something about that is you -- because you are the only one who can adjust your vibration. You are the only one who can choose the dominant vibration that feels good....

-– Abe –- San Francisco, CA, 3/16/02

Concerned About What Others Think of You?

Instead of being worried about what people think of you, focus instead on what you think of them.

Each time you praise or appreciate you are telling the Universe, "More of this please". By concentrating on what you appreciate about them any troubling feelings you have will go away.

Individual Change = Social Change = Global Change

Global change begins on an individual level. I think that's why I am so interested in the Law of Attraction. I've seen first hand how life can change for the better by changing your thoughts, by being more deliberate in what you believe and how you conduct your life. I'm interested in seeing how positive individual change will effect our global society.

What is your first instinct when you see images of wounded soldiers and civilians from Iraq and Afghanistan, think of a child being bullied by another, hear stories of abused children and animals? For most of us our first instinct is to help. We want to help. We want to make it better. But what ultimately makes a situation better?

Most people want to know what they can DO to help but I wonder how many of us take it a step further and ask ourselves what we can BE to help. Can we be more compassionate, understanding, courageous? Can we be more accepting of other peoples views and lifestyles? Can we be more focused on creating our own life the way we want and allow others to create their life the way they want?

Yes, action is important but not as important as first deciding who you choose to be in this world. Be deliberate in your creation then let any action you do be directed from a place of connection and clear intent. Life is lived from the inside out. As we become more aware of creating our reality and start making conscious choices about our creations then we will see those wonderful creations reflected in the world around us.

Note From The Universe

Someone so cool, something so neat, and somewhere so wonderful, are all on the menu. You just have to make up your mind and order.

And you should see dessert...

from Notes From The Universe @ www.tut.com

Gratitude

A daily practice of gratitude can change our life. It's one of the most powerful tools we have to help us live a life of joy.

The simple act of giving thanks for those things we love, appreciate and enjoy is the one thing that will keep them flowing in our life. It keeps us at the same vibrational frequency as the things we are grateful for.

It's such a simple but powerful thing to do. It doesn't cost anything and it only takes a moment of our time. What are you grateful for today?

Which Letter Feels Better

I was sorting through my mail this weekend and received two donation letters. Both letters had to do with poverty and world hunger. One letter had a picture of a crying, hungry African baby on it and the other letter had a montage of women smiling, working and caring for their babies. Both letters were dealing with the same issue but one was coming from a place of trust and empowerment and the other of lack and helplessness.

I glanced at the letter with the crying African baby on it and felt a feeling of hopelessness. It's the same kind of letter I've received over the last twenty-five years or so. Crying, hungry babies and their families. Why hasn't anything changed? I've donated to this organization over the years but nothing seems to have really changed or improved. When I looked at the other letter I felt optimistic and excited about helping them. The pictures and the letter itself was uplifting and encouraging. I felt that by contributing I would be doing something to empower these people; assisting in a project that was helping them become self-sufficient and more in charge of their lives and that felt good.

Part of the Solution or Part of the Pollution?

When you see someone living something awful, a rocket of desire for their resolution shoots out of you. And then, if you start focusing upon their resolution, you'll start feeling better right away. And now, you're part of the current that is part of the solution. --- Abraham

This Abraham Hicks quote really resonates with me because I believe solutions to social problems come from connected people flowing energy and not from people pushing against what they don't want. Whatever it is you want to see improve, the best way to help it happen is to envision it done, consistently and in great detail. Then if any action is required you'll be coming from a place of connection, with the energy that creates worlds moving you forward.

It's a great thing to be involved in the world and to respond to what is going on around you. Being involved is a wonderful way to spend your life experience. But let any action you do be inspired instead of motivated. Motivated action says you should do it because there is lack if you don't. Inspired action involves consciously focusing on what you want and why you want it. By doing this you will inspire your ideas of what you are wanting which will lead you to the who, what and how to make it happen.

As one of my favorite bands Michael Franti & Spearhead says, "Are we part of the solution or part of the pollution?" I want to be part of the solution!
