Note From The Universe

It's not a matter of whether or not you can afford it, swing it, or handle it.

It's a question of whether or not I can.

And I can.

Individual Change = Social Change = Global Change

Global change begins on an individual level. I think that's why I am so interested in the Law of Attraction. I've seen first hand how life can change for the better by changing your thoughts, by being more deliberate in what you believe and how you conduct your life. I'm interested in seeing how positive individual change will effect our global society.

What is your first instinct when you see images of wounded soldiers and civilians from Iraq and Afghanistan, think of a child being bullied by another, hear stories of abused children and animals? For most of us our first instinct is to help. We want to help. We want to make it better. But what ultimately makes a situation better?

Most people want to know what they can DO to help but I wonder how many of us take it a step further and ask ourselves what we can BE to help. Can we be more compassionate, understanding, courageous? Can we be more accepting of other peoples views and lifestyles? Can we be more focused on creating our own life the way we want and allow others to create their life the way they want?

Yes, action is important but not as important as first deciding who you choose to be in this world. Be deliberate in your creation then let any action you do be directed from a place of connection and clear intent. Life is lived from the inside out. As we become more aware of creating our reality and start making conscious choices about our creations then we will see those wonderful creations reflected in the world around us.

Note From The Universe

Someone so cool, something so neat, and somewhere so wonderful, are all on the menu. You just have to make up your mind and order.

And you should see dessert...

Gratitude

A daily practice of gratitude can change our life. It's one of the most powerful tools we have to help us live a life of joy.

The simple act of giving thanks for those things we love, appreciate and enjoy is the one thing that will keep them flowing in our life. It keeps us at the same vibrational frequency as the things we are grateful for.

It's such a simple but powerful thing to do. It doesn't cost anything and it only takes a moment of our time. What are you grateful for today?

Which Letter Feels Better

I was sorting through my mail this weekend and received two donation letters. Both letters had to do with poverty and world hunger. One letter had a picture of a crying, hungry African baby on it and the other letter had a montage of women smiling, working and caring for their babies. Both letters were dealing with the same issue but one was coming from a place of trust and empowerment and the other of lack and helplessness.

I glanced at the letter with the crying African baby on it and felt a feeling of hopelessness. It's the same kind of letter I've received over the last twenty-five years or so. Crying, hungry babies and their families. Why hasn't anything changed? I've donated to this organization over the years but nothing seems to have really changed or improved. When I looked at the other letter I felt optimistic and excited about helping them. The pictures and the letter itself was uplifting and encouraging. I felt that by contributing I would be doing something to empower these people; assisting in a project that was helping them become self-sufficient and more in charge of their lives and that felt good.

Part of the Solution or Part of the Pollution?

When you see someone living something awful, a rocket of desire for their resolution shoots out of you. And then, if you start focusing upon their resolution, you'll start feeling better right away. And now, you're part of the current that is part of the solution. --- Abraham

This Abraham Hicks quote really resonates with me because I believe solutions to social problems come from connected people flowing energy and not from people pushing against what they don't want. Whatever it is you want to see improve, the best way to help it happen is to envision it done, consistently and in great detail. Then if any action is required you'll be coming from a place of connection, with the energy that creates worlds moving you forward.

It's a great thing to be involved in the world and to respond to what is going on around you. Being involved is a wonderful way to spend your life experience. But let any action you do be inspired instead of motivated. Motivated action says you should do it because there is lack if you don't. Inspired action involves consciously focusing on what you want and why you want it. By doing this you will inspire your ideas of what you are wanting which will lead you to the who, what and how to make it happen.

As one of my favorite bands Michael Franti & Spearhead says, "Are we part of the solution or part of the pollution?" I want to be part of the solution!

Uncovering Belief Systems

I've been thinking a lot lately about beliefs. For several days now I've been noticing the comments people have been making around me; comments like "No matter what I do I just can't get ahead" or "This is the way its always been and I don't see it getting any better", or "I always attract the same kind of person". I was intrigued by these comments for a couple of reasons.

First, I believe that people mirror our own thoughts back to us and if I'm noticing these comments in others then there must be something in my own thought system that mirrors it. Second, it made me question whether that was my real belief or not and third, it made me wonder why we would choose to hold on to beliefs that no longer serve us. I decided to do some investigating into my own belief system and was surprised by what I uncovered.

I found that I have many, many things that I desire to be and experience in my life but I hold beliefs that don't match my desires. In the areas where my desires and beliefs match my life runs smoothly and I have no trouble manifesting what I desire. For example, I have exactly the kind of love relationship that I want. I've never had any doubt that I could have it and that has been my experience. I'm content, happy and loved and I have no resistance in that particular area of my life. I also noticed that I have more clarity and feeling about what I want and expect in my love life. My belief is that I can have any kind of relationship I desire and that belief is what manifests in my life.

I realized that the areas in my life where I was experiencing difficulty and resistance was where I had split energy toward my desire. I was clear about what I wanted but my thoughts were focused on what I didn't want and my experience was that I ended up with exactly what I didn't want. For instance, when I looked at my belief about money it did not match my desire for it. My desire is to have an abundance of money to live comfortably and to do the all the things I enjoy like traveling, decorating, photography, etc. But my belief is that money is limited and that I barely have enough to pay my bills. And guess what, that's exactly my experience or shall I say was my experience.

If we are free to think any thought we want and a belief is just a thought we keep thinking then why not build a belief system that is in alignment with our desires and purpose for our life. The knowledge that our beliefs determine our experience opens a whole new, wonderful world to explore.
