Our Beliefs About God?
Where does God fit in all this talk about the Law of Attraction? This is a valid question and one worth examining in greater detail. This is a big topic to cover in just one post so I will be devoting several posts to exploring the different aspects of it. I would like to make it clear that I am not telling you what to believe because that decision is entirely up to you. But I am asking you to keep an open mind and consider the possibilities as we delve more deeply into this topic.
I think it is important to get this out in the open – I don’t know all there is to know about God and the workings of the Universe and neither do you. How can we? A belief that we know all there is to know implies that everything is done and that cannot be since this Universe is eternally expanding and so are we. Since we don’t know everything there is to know, that means that there is always something new to discover, a new way to view or experience something that will increase our understanding of it.
In order to gain a deeper understanding of anything you must first be willing to see it in a different light. You must be open to the possibility of seeing it another way. Now, being open to the possibility doesn’t mean you have to agree with it, it just means that it’s possible. You can find evidence for or against anything you want but you will always find evidence according to your beliefs.
If you want to see how God and the Law of Attraction go together then you must first be willing to see it. It still amazes me how the mere mention of God in a conversation can push people’s buttons like it does. Different views of God can really provoke some ugly arguments and I’m not sure why that is. I’m not asking for quantum leaps here but I would like to see a healthy questioning of your beliefs about God. Questioning a belief is merely taking a deeper look at it. It will show you whether or not your belief is really yours or is instead what someone wants you to believe. But remember, no one can change your belief but you. So before we get into God and the Law of Attraction let’s take a closer look at our beliefs about God.
Do you believe...
You are separate from God or that you are a physical extension of God?
God created the world and then stopped creating or that God continues to create?
There is anything that God can’t do?
God communicates directly with you?
God has physical attributes like Man or that God is Energy?
God sees you as limited or unlimited?
God wants you to live all the life you are capable of living?
There is something that connects everything in this Universe?
I hope you will take some time to consider what you think about these questions because your belief about God will reveal everything to you regarding your belief about life and what you believe is possible.

How synchronistic! I have just been researching info on the 10 commandments. My initial reaction was urrgh! because the language of the Old Testament is something I really have had trouble with. My explorations into understanding the nature of God has continued.
I discovered a book by Joseph Lewis called,"The Ten Commandments," where he seems to be questioning the God of the Old Testament and upon reading pieces of his perspective, I can really understand why. He is bringing to light, the characteristics that have been attributed to God in the Old Testament and if I take the words at face value then I probably could not love or respect such a God either.
I also fortunately have some priceless books by Joel S Goldsmith, where he really gave me a refreshing and new perspective on the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament.
I will quote his words as he says it much more elegantly. He writes:
"Just as we know that the sun, moon, and stars are not God, so do we know now that the Jehovah God of wrath and vengeance is not God. It is karmic law. It is the law that says that as ye sow, so shall ye reap. It is the law that says if we do good, good will come to us, but, on the other hand, if we do evil, evil will come upon us.
As a man "thinketh in his heart, so is he." That is not God: That is karmic law which came to be known as God. It never was God, as John realized when he revealed that 'the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.' There is a great difference between the grace and truth of Jesus Christ and the law of Moses. and while it is necessary for everyone to know and understand karmic law, it is also vitally necessary that one go beyond this age old law into the realm of Grace... True there is a time in our lives during our earliest humanhood when we need the law... but if we remain in that state we will not advance very rapidly toward our spiritual freedom.
Everyone on earth must some day inhabit heaven. Everyone on earth must some day rise above being a sick and sinning mortal and accept the inheritance of his divine sonship but no one will be able to do this by living under the law, nor will he do it by learning to be a good human being. It cannot be accomplished merely by some human form or worship, nor by becoming honest or moral. Those are only first steps...
Ultimately their comes a day when we actually attain a realization of the Spirit of God that dwells within us, when we come face to face with It, when It touches us on the shoulder, on the head, or in the heart, when in some way or other, It announces Its presence. From then on we are no longer simply good men or women; from then on we are no longer under the law of punishment or of reward: From that time to the end of our days on earth and throughout eternity, we are under Grace."
Sounds worth aspiring to for me!!!
